# It has been a while — New Website, New Energy

*2026-01-20 — Announcement — By Kim*

> Morgondag returns with a refreshed website after a long hiatus, ready to share more openly about game development, technical projects, and navigating the evolving landscape of 2026.
It has been a while — or a very long time since we published to the internetz.

Just as you have, we have been busy with all sort of things.
Life, other jobs, consultancy work, babies, family, friends, bbq, walking at the beach, hiding from snow.
But mostly we've been busy working on our projects.

I kept the little [Discord](https://discord.gg/KhsFPF4eQF) alive and posted a few far-and-between screenshots of the updates for [Lunar Soil](../games/lunar-soil).
Other than that we have been quite quiet quietly.

But I felt a bit urged to refresh the content on the site — so here we are.

### It's 2026 and that's great

A lot of things have been transpiring since we last posted. <Abbr explanation="NFTs - Non-Fungible Tokens, a crypto-bro thing">NFTs</Abbr> came and gone.
I saw an influx of interest from the grifter community for [Bit Animation Editor](../games/bit-animation-editor).
They came and went and now we're back to the old days where pixel art is just great — not a crypto-bro thing.

We went from the information age to the language models and AI scene of today.
There's quite a trend of people using AI to generate art, music and of course code and create all sort of things.
But gamers — they **hate** AI generated content right now. I think I get it from a traditional artist perspective.
But I like all sort of digital tools.

Luckily I use Blender and a <Abbr explanation="A pointy pen device for pointing pens and drawing stuff..">Wacom tablet</Abbr> to create the levels of Lunar Soil.

But removed all sort of image generations for the placeholder art in the game - I enjoy making graffiti in Illustrator.

### All the things
It's an interesting time to be a game developer, software architect, or engineer.

I'll be using this site more openly going forward — not just for game releases, but for the technical explorations and side projects that keep me busy.
There's a lot going on, and I want to share more casually here.

## Questions & Answers

*Questions about the article, answered by the developer.*

**1. You say you removed AI-generated placeholder art from Lunar Soil — was that a creative decision or a strategic one because gamers will roast you for it?**

Well in the end of the day it diden't really add much feeling to the game and its art design anyway.
So a bit of both! I do enjoy to add some graffiti here and there thats human made.

**2. What was it like watching crypto grifters descend on Bit Animation Editor — did anyone actually try to recruit you into some NFT scheme?**

Well we did actually get quite a few commision on art work, some used for expos some for personal use. Hopefully no malicous intent..

**3. You've been quiet for years but clearly kept building — why break the silence now instead of just shipping Lunar Soil and letting that do the talking?**

Yeah that would be a more solid option, but we are also doing other projects and it feels great to have your little place on the internet.

**4. You say you like 'all sort of digital tools' but then list Blender, Wacom, and Illustrator — where does AI actually fit into your workflow, if at all?**

It is good at code-assistant and even for helping out with procedural content. Image generation itself not so much.

**5. Making graffiti in Illustrator for a game called Lunar Soil — how does street art end up on the moon?**

Well its quite a large world of industrial buildings and a large base. It's been there for a while I think. And the people that are there have expressed themself on the environment.

**6. Looking at what you've published since this post — serverless streaming, AI podcasts, content negotiation for bots — is Morgondag still a game studio or is it becoming something else?**

Yeah it is both in the software space and games, but you know software can be art to.
Sometimes I write programs that does art sometimes not.
